Woodland Shrooms - Cotton Placemat Sets
Woodland Shrooms - Cotton Placemat Sets
The Woodland Shrooms placemats are part of my best selling Woodland Shrooms collection. The placemats show a joyful pattern of hand painted mushrooms and fungi which you can discover during woodland walks throughout the year. It includes Chanterelles, Porcini, and Toadstools. They are growing over the full surface of the placemat, surrounded by patches of moss. The sandy beige background colour makes the mushroom pattern stand out even more. The placemats are available as sets of two, four or six.

Each mushroom placemat is made from a durable and machine washable cotton fabric which makes it a practical and beautiful at the same time. The storytelling pattern on these bold mushroom placemats shows a vast range of my hand painted mushroom and fungi illustrations. In the centre it features a bold red Fly Agaric mushroom (also known as a Toadstool), bright yellow Chanterelles, pink Oyster Mushrooms and many more. They are surrounded by some patches of moss and the occasional snail peeking through. If you have a mushroom and fungi fanatic in your friend group, then this is the perfect Christmas gift for them!

This mushroom-inspired placemat set is crafted from strong, durable cotton fabric, designed to withstand everyday use. The cotton has a balanced weave, offering enough flexibility to lay flat on your table without being stiff or rigid. The fabric is soft to the touch, giving your table an inviting feel, while remaining sturdy for repeated use. Each placemat is finished with neatly hemmed edges, using a double hem technique to prevent fraying, ensuring long-lasting quality.
This set of beautifully illustrated placemats would make an excellent Christmas gift for that friend who loves anything mushroom-related. With earthy tones of red and green, the design fits perfectly into a festive setting, making it an ideal gift for anyone in the family, whether it's your husband, dad, or friend. Each illustration has been hand-painted and developed into the mushroom print by myself, Anna-Maria Pellegrini, working from my studio in East London, UK. With a background in textile design engineering, I ensure that quality materials and detailed prints are at the heart of my work. My placemats, made in collaboration with a UK-based textiles manufacturer, combine storytelling through bold prints with durable, functional textiles, supporting both craftsmanship and the local economy.

My textile manufacturer and I recommend the following care instructions to ensure your cotton placemats last for a long time:
Wash your placemats at 40°C
Air dry or tumble dry on a delicate setting to prevent shrinking
(Steam) iron your placemats on a low to medium heat from the back side
Avoid using bleach
Do not excessively wring the placemats
Please note: Washing at higher temperatures, or ironing and tumble drying at high heat, may cause the material and print to wear out more quickly.
