The storytelling pattern on this bold mushroom tea towel features a vast range of my hand painted mushroom and fungi illustrations. In the centre it features a bold red Fly Agaric mushroom (also known as a Toadstool), bright yellow Chanterelles, pink Oyster Mushrooms and many more. They are surrounded by some patches of moss and the occasional snail peeking through. If you have a mushroom and fungi enthusiast in your friend group, this joyful mushroom tea towel is the perfect Christmas gift for them!

  • This mushroom tea towel is made from a strong, durable cotton fabric. The weave of the cotton is loose enough to allow the fabric to absorb water when you dry your dishes, unlike many cheaper cotton tea towels that have a very tight weave. When touching and draping Woodland Shrooms you can feel the fabric is quite soft and flexible and not at all stiff. This also means your tea towel will air dry quickly when it gets damp. Having a closer look at the finishing of this gorgeous cotton tea towel, you will notice that the edges are neatly hemmed with a double hem so that the fabric does not fray. Flipping the tea towel on its back, you can find a practical hanging loop sewn into one corner and my AMPellegrini Art & Design label into the other one.

If you have a mushroom and fungi enthusiast in your friend group, this cheerful mushroom tea towel makes the perfect Christmas gift! With its mainly earthy tones, reds and greens it would also be an ideal Christmas gift for your husband or dad. All of the illustrations for the mushroom tea towel have been hand painted and developed into a print design by myself, Anna-Maria Pellegrini. I mainly work from my studio in East London, in the UK. My background in textile design engineering means that the quality of the materials and the print are at the core of my practice. Combining bold and storytelling print designs with durable and functional textiles was the idea behind my British made tea towel range. I work together with en England based textiles manufacturer who prints and makes the tea towels to my specifications for me. Over the past few years we have developed a great business relationship and both are keen to support the economy in the UK.

  • My textile manufacturer and myself recommend the following to make sure your tea towel lasts you for a long time:

    • wash your tea towel at 40 degrees

    • let it air dry or tumble dry on the delicates setting to prevent shrinking

    • (steam) iron your tea towel at a low to medium heat from the back side

    • do not use bleach

    • do not excessively wring the tea towel

Please note: if you decide to wash your tea towel at a higher temperature as well as iron and tumble dry it at high heat, the material and print will wear off quicker.
